Reflecting on 2020

This year was crazy, unpredictable, and weird to say the least. But it was also a year of growth, strength, and overcoming.

I am grateful for all the lessons that this year has taught me and I am grateful for the things that I experienced, because I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t gone through them.

The other day I was scrolling through my camera roll, and I started thinking about some of my favourite memories from this year:

Trip to California

Before the pandemic started, I got to travel to Anaheim, California for a business conference. I’ve always loved conferences, and that one was amazing. It was great to be surrounded by people I admire and aspire to be like. The energy in the room was electric and magnetic, and I felt like I was right where I was meant to be.

After the conference, my mom and I stayed in California for a few extra days and went to Disneyland. If you’re unaware, my family and I are major Disney fans – we always joke that it’s our second home. Disney World is our main base, and so it was nice to go to Disneyland for the first time (yes, there is a difference between the two). It was so amazing, and one of my favourite moments from this year.

Starting my Blog

This was a big one, because I found my passion for writing through blogging. I kind of regret not doing as much of it as I wanted to because I preoccupied myself with a lot of unimportant things. Why? I have no idea. *cue face palm*. But this year, I am committed to writing for me and spending more time doing it because it’s something that makes me very happy.

That being said, even though I didn’t blog as much as I wanted to, I did connect and collaborate with some amazing people in the blogging community and am grateful for that! I can’t wait to meet more people this year – so if you’re a blogger too… I would love to be friends!

Investing in Mindset and Personal Development

Ok, so I didn’t have an exact photo in my camera roll that reminded me of this one – but I do believe that growth was one of the biggest things that happened last year, and a lot of that for me was self-growth.

I invested in myself through courses, books, and podcasts and was committed to developing myself and my skills. Personal development became such a key part of my life this year (you can read more about my routine here) and is one of the biggest blessings from this year.

One of the ways I invested in personal development was through a course called Thinking Into Results. This course has helped me with my mindset and to expand my awareness – but it has also led me to so many other breakthroughs within myself. I have never been more comfortable with who I am than right now, and I am finding how to be in moments of peace and bliss with myself.

Growth in My Business

So considering we weren’t able to go to many places this year, I’d say that the online space exploded. Prior to the pandemic, I was already working online – but when the pandemic started, it gave me more time to focus on my business.

In my almost 2 years of working online, I had some of my highest volume months this year, and I am so grateful for that. I will always remember the exact moments when they happened, but I’ll also remember how much that made me believe that I could do even more.

Overall, I’d say this was a year of many lessons & growth. But you know that? We wouldn’t be who we are today if we hadn’t gone through that. It has made us stronger and ready for this year – and I have a feeling that big things are in store.

Wishing you all the best, – this is YOUR year if you want it to be.
